- "We will never know our reach unless we stretch." I would be speaking at an in person meetup about Strategies to find a job in Germany 🇩🇪 on the below topics on 2 May(Fri) between 7-10pm CET.
Looking back, I never thought in my life that I would once become an expat Freelancer on a Freelance visa while living abroad in Germany. I did become one though and that too in the middle of Covid in Germany in 2021(not an ideal time to become a freelancer given the tough job market back then but then for me 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 & 𝗜 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵) & I had to stretch myself further & I finally 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁 all the more 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗜 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗘𝗨 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗰 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰.
It made me believe I was capable of so much more if I was just willing to be practicing things like regular reflection, awareness, mind, thought & energy management(and of course time management too) & other things to become successful.
History repeats itself, we're facing challenging times again in Germany and in many parts of the world with regards to finding jobs and basically more than anything else just surviving.
- Having done at least 8+ meetups(a combination of both online & in person forms) about job search & career in parallel to building Wherecanonefind and also speaking at and participating in a few other related events, I've had an opportunity to more closely connect & learn from a lot of job applicants & their related current challenges with finding a job in Germany currently.
- I've also got to learn about & observe different strategies, common mistakes they are currently making and also I've got some insight into how things have started to be different for them after proposing a few changes to their current job search approach.
In addition to the above, I'm aiming to share what I've learnt in the last 5+ years of my being in Germany and getting various jobs here both as an expat employee + freelancer through this event and also share other learnings/reflections/aha moments as applicable.
